Welcome! Thanks for your interest in learning more about Sustainable San Mateo County (SSMC) and how you can benefit by becoming a sponsor.

SSMC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has focused on San Mateo County becoming more sustainable since 1992. We are the only organization in the county that tracks the sustainability performance of local cities and provides proven solutions they can implement to accelerate sustainability progress. We celebrate local champions every year at our Awards Celebration, provide an in-depth research report on one critical sustainability issue facing our county each year and train the next generation of sustainability leaders through our youth programs.

SSMC Sustainability Gala Sponsorships

On September 23, Sustainable San Mateo County will host a brand-new event for our region, the SSMC Sustainability Gala, “Investing in Regional Resilience,” taking place in Burlingame on September 23, 2026. This is more than an event; it is a convergence of academic prestige, regional influence and local investment. An elite gathering of nearly 200 influential community leaders and dedicated public servants will join to learn, connect and champion local innovation and investment to create an equitable and prosperous region. The Dean of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, Arun Majumdar, will keynote the event.
